Released in September 16, 1977 and recorded in Sundragon Studios in New York City, Talking Heads:77 is the debut album of American art punk band Talking Heads. It was produced by Tony Bongiovi and released in the US and UK through the Sire label. It was released through Phillips Records in the rest of Europe. The album made number 60 in the 1978 UK album charts, and single Psycho Killer peaked at position 92 of the Billboard Hot 100 in 1978.

But the "Uh-Oh" gave away the group's game early, with its nervous, disconnected lyrics and David Byrne's strained voice

Their debut, Talking Heads 77, took an avant-garde art sensibility and applied it to bubblegum rock and old-school funk. The results cook with skewed genius. Drummer Chris Frantz and bassist Tina Weymouth keep a tight grip on the beat, while Jerry Harrison provides flavorful keyboard filigrees.
