Our Endless Numbered Days. 2004 Sub Pop. On Your Wings. Sunset Soon Forgotten.

On Our Endless Numbered Days, the follow-up to 2002's stunningly good Creek Drank the Cradle, the sound of Iron & Wine has changed but the song remains the same. No longer does Sam Beam record his intimate songs in the intimate surroundings of his home. Instead he has made the jump to the recording studio. A definite plus to recording in a studio and enlisting the help of outside musicians is that there is much more variety to the album and there are lots of small production touches that liven things up like the Native American chants at the close of "Cinder and Smoke," the pedal steel guitar on "Sunset Soon Forgotten," and the drums and tambourine on. the bluesy "Free Until They Cut Me Down.

Our Endless Numbered Days is the second full-length album from Iron & Wine. Released on March 23, 2004, it was the first non-solo effort by Sam Beam under his Iron & Wine moniker, and was recorded in a professional studio, giving it a more polished and produced sound than The Creek Drank The Cradle, which Beam recorded at home. Although it added band members other than Sam Beam, the focus was still on acoustic instruments.

Beam isn’t the first indie singer/songwriter to drop in prickly banjos ( Teeth in the Grass ), nor weepy slide guitars ( Love and Some Verses ), yet few have proven as intoxicating. Our Endless Numbered Days Iron & Wine.

I am listening to this album for the first time and am enjoying it a lot. Beautiful music, poignant lyrics and a very good pressing overall. Although the music is mostly quiet I have not heard any pops or clicks throughout. This edition has been carefully crafted and have a lot of nice details like the fine booklet with the lyrics and an elegant and interesting notes from Amanda Petrusich.
Someone rip this in flac my guy p l e a a s se
Great pressing, especially for the price. Super quiet wax, engaging vocals, clean sounding guitar, etc.
My copy was warped, still playable though. The sound was perfect an very warm.
Exactly the same, Warped but playable whit great sound ! excellent album.
Cassette coming out 8/25/17! Hyped and can't wait to play it!
Pressing is excellent--heavy vinyl, quiet in the quiet parts, very clear-sounding. Anti-static archival inner sleeve included. Download can be gotten in MP3, ALAC, or FLAC. Bonus tracks included with download. Overall another superb product from Sub Pop.
This is in my top 5 albums of all time. I've only just got a copy on vinyl after years of playing it on CD and Wow!!, it's taken the listening experience and enjoyment to a whole new level. Fantastic and my favourite Iron & Wine album.
Absolutely gorgeous release by Sam Beam from Florida. 12 tracks with only one or two guitars and his voice, with a few exceptions. But even though the minimalistic production, this is a monumental work! Bean's guitar-playing is outstanding, and together with his smooth voice it sometimes gives me goosebumps. The best examples are the two with the saddest melodies: "Cinder & Smoke" and "Fever Dream". It was through "Fever Dream" I got to hear about Iron & Wine. It was on Devendra Banhart & Friends rare album "Golden apples of the sun" and was together with Johanna Newson's "Bridges and balloons" the best! Anyways, this is a pure summer-album, filled with emotions. Perfect album to fall in love with a girl to... =P
