You’ll be guided through a tutored tasting of four spectacular Highland Park Vintages - 1968, 1970, 1971 and 1976 as well as an exclusive single cask bottling in front of the open fire in our private Eunson Room. Following the tour, you’ll have the opportunity to purchase the single cask bottling (subject to availability) and, as a souvenir of your visit, you’ll receive your own tasting glass, a signed & framed certificate and a book about the history of our distillery. Highland Park 16-year-old 16 yr. The strength of this whisky is 4. % Vol. A bottle from Highland Park. This 16-year-old Highland Park has wonderful aromas of fruit, creamy honey notes, spices and heather on the nose. All in perfect balance and wrapped in fine wood smoke. On the palate, however, there is a dominant spiciness of oak and pepper, leaving little room for the filgrane fruit aromas to unfold. On the finish dry notes dominate again. A dram for the colder days of the year, but from my point of view there is no need of adding any water.
1979 – Highland Distilleries invests considerably in marketing Highland Park as single malt which increases sales markedly. 1986 – A visitor centre, considered one of Scotland’s finest, is opened. 1997 – Two new Highland Park are launched, an 18 year old and a 25 year old. 1999 – Highland Distillers are acquired by Edrington Group and William Grant & Sons. Highland Park is an affluent suburban city in Lake County, Illinois, United States, about 25 miles (40 km) north of downtown Chicago. As of the 2016 population estimate, the population was 29,641. Highland Park is one of several municipalities located on the North Shore of the Chicago metropolitan area. They were the original stockholders of the Highland Park Building Company.
Highland Park is one of the best-known and most respected of Scotch whiskies. The great, and sadly late, whisky writer, Michael Jackson, summed its status up in this way: "Highland Park is considered the greatest all-rounder in the world of malt whisky.
