Brazilian Romance was Vaughan's third album of Brazilian music, following Copacabana (1979) and I Love Brazil! (1977). Vaughan was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Performance, Female at the 30th Annual Grammy Awards for her performance on this album.

I already owned this album in cassette form. My love of Ms. Sarah Vaughan & the stellar work on this cd (her last), made me want it in CD form. There are some albums that you can put on & let play, from start-to-finish, never loosing interest, and with each tune getting better & better - these are what I call classics - "Thriller" by Michael; "Lady In Satin" by Billie; "Sketches of Spain" by Miles; several by Sade, and this one by Sarah. Of course there are many more, and perhaps at another time I'll list my fave classics).
